It is entirely a different experience to celebrate a medieval festival in a castle. In the first picture my son holds a sword for the first time and wears a helmet. He was speechless and quite shocked at the weight of the sword. I believe he was quite relieved when we liberated him from the role of a chevalier as he could not bare the weight much longer. All the attire worn was individually made by the group who organized the event except of coarse the armour . There were demonstrations of hand made cords and ropes, embroidery, juggling, magic, live music, dance, sword fighting and not to forget the preparation of medieval foods such as nettle soup.
